Du Jia Yao
Music Theory Teacher
Du Jia Yao (杜佳瑶), a lecturer in music theory, hails from Yongzhou, Hunan. She began studying music at a young age and won the bronze medal twice in the Hunan Provincial "Three Solos" Competition during her high school years. In 2009, she graduated with a degree in musicology from Hunan Normal University. She furthered her studies in 2012 at the Jin Tielin Chinese Vocal Music Advanced Workshop and earned a Master's degree in Faculty Management from Chongqing University in 2013. In 2021, she attained the rank of lecturer, having accumulated 15 years of experience teaching at higher education institutions.
She has published 8 journal papers and emphasizes the integration of arts and culture in education. She guided the dance drama 《山丹丹花开红艳艳》(Shan Dan Dan Hua Kai Hong Yan Yan) to win second place in Guangdong Province's thematic education competition in 2021 and directed the micro-video 《萤火燎旧厝》(Fireflies Light Up Old Houses) to secure 1st runner up in Foshan's thematic education event.
With extensive expertise in music theory, vocal training, and sight-singing, she employs scientific and integrated teaching methods to deliver efficient, high-quality lessons. Her approachable teaching style makes learning music theory accessible and enjoyable for students of all ages.
