Emily Wang

Founding Principal

Emily Wang (王晨帆), Principal of SoMe Music School and Chairman of Singapore Oversea Music Education company, is an UK-trained piano educator, an International Honorary Advisor of the Federation of World Cultural & Art Society (Singapore), an Honorary Steinway Teacher, a Ministry of Education (MOE) certified teacher in Singapore, Chairman of Hunan Kunyu Education Consulting Development Co., Ltd., Member of the Singapore Association for Youth and Children Education, Member of the International Musicians Association, an University music department faculty member for 10 years, Member of the China Pianists Teachers Association, Member of the Hunan Musicians Association, Member of the Piano Professional Committee of Hunan Musicians Association, as well as an examiner for the China Musicians Association’s Social Art Level Examination. She has also served as an examiner for Hunan Province College Entrance Examination for Music Programs, a judge for the Steinway International National Youth Piano Competitions, a judge for the Central Conservatory of Music’s National Youth Art Exhibitions, an Art Advisor & Judge for the Asia International Arts Competition, a judge for the Love Music International Music Competition, and a judge for the China-Singapore International Music Competition, among many others.


She graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Tianjin Conservatory of Music and a Master's degree from the University of Manchester in the UK. While studying abroad, she organized the Chinese students' New Year Music Concert in the UK, held a personal music concert at the Whitworth Art Gallery, and invited local renowned performers to play her compositions. During her ten years of teaching at Changsha Normal University, she was responsible for teaching at the College of Music and Dance and the College of Early Childhood Education, participated in writing teaching outlines and talent training plans, and taught over 3,000 students in subjects including music theory, piano performance, and music education. Her research specialization is in children's music education, with more than 10 published papers, and she has led two provincial-level research projects, one university-level key project, and three published patents. She has also been involved in four provincial and ministerial-level projects and guided students in successfully applying for one project.


During her teaching career, she has guided students who won awards such as the Outstanding Teaching Mentor Award from the International Musicians Association, Outstanding Mentor Award from the Asia International Arts Competition, Talent Mentor Award from the Hong Kong International Piano Invitational Competition, Excellent Mentor Award from the Melbourne International Music Festival, and others.


SoMe Music School, established since 2022, has hosted multiple student music concerts, outdoor music camps, collaborated with the Singapore American School’s International Week performance, co-hosted the Chinese Embassy’s New Year Music Concert in Singapore, and focuses on providing high-quality music education. The teaching team consists of experienced and professionally qualified music educators, offering courses in piano, accompaniment, and music theory, with plans to expand to include improvisation and group music literacy courses for young children, and violin courses in the future. The school uses both online and offline teaching methods to cultivate students' musical interests and abilities, improve their musical literacy and aesthetic level, and lay a solid foundation for their musical careers and future development.
