Han Xing Zhi

Han Xing Zhi (韩兴志) is a Singapore-based violinist and music educator with over a decade of experience in violin teaching and performance. He has built a strong foundation in classical violin performance through formal training at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Singapore, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Performance through professional training associated with the Royal College of Music, London.

During his studies, Han was mentored by renowned violin pedagogue Rashkovsky Itzhak, as well as Singapore Symphony Orchestra musicians Foo Sayming and Nikolai. These experiences provided him with valuable technical guidance and performance exposure, further developing his musical sensitivity, discipline, and understanding of the violin repertoire.

As a teacher, Han has been teaching violin since 2010 and has worked as a full-time music instructor since 2015. He has taught at various schools in Singapore, providing private violin instruction, CCA training, and ensemble coaching. He has also prepared students for ABRSM, Trinity, and other music examinations, as well as concerts and stage performances. His teaching experience spans students of different ages and abilities, allowing him to adapt his approach according to each student's learning needs and goals.

Alongside his teaching career, Han has remained active as a performing musician. He has performed with ensembles and organisations including Singapore Lyric Opera, The Philharmonic Orchestra, Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra, and Kids’ Philharmonic@sg. His performance experience includes appearances at Victoria Concert Hall, Esplanade Concert Hall, and the Berliner Philharmonie, as well as international music exchanges and concert tours across Europe and Asia.

As an educator, Han believes in building strong technical foundations while nurturing musical understanding and enjoyment. He tailors his lessons to each student's age, ability, and goals, balancing technical development, musical expression, and motivation. Through patient guidance and structured learning, he aims to help students build confidence, develop good practice habits, and grow into independent musicians.
