Liu Xiao Yang

Liu Xiao Yang (刘晓洋) is a passionate and dedicated piano teacher and graduate performer from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore. She has received numerous awards in both domestic and international piano competitions and brings over three years of teaching experience.

She firmly believes that the essence of music education lies in inspiring the heart before refining technique. Her teaching is rooted in building a solid foundation while nurturing lifelong musical appreciation and confident expression.

Liu specializes in creating personalized teaching plans tailored to each student’s personality and goals, covering areas such as early childhood music education, interest development, and exam preparation.

She emphasizes fundamental training, focusing on proper hand shape, fingering, and sight-reading skills, while using a wide range of musical materials to ignite students’ intrinsic motivation.

As a performer, she has given numerous solo and chamber music performances in school concerts and public events.

She also has extensive experience in accompaniment, having served as a collaborative pianist for string and vocal students, including accompaniment for ABRSM instrumental exams.

Her ongoing performance practice not only sharpens her own artistry but also enriches her teaching, allowing her to share real-world musical insights and expressive techniques with her students.
