From 9 to 11 February 2026, the 20th Singapore Zhongsin International Music Competition Grand Finals concluded successfully. As a prestigious music event with a distinguished 20-year history, this year’s competition upheld its longstanding standards of professionalism and rigor. Over three consecutive days of competitions, showcase performances, and the awards ceremony, the programme ran smoothly and efficiently. From event organization to stage presentation, every detail reflected the organizer’s extensive experience and the international standard of the competition.
The competition featured a wide range of categories and divisions, including Piano; Chinese Traditional Instruments (Guzheng, Ruan, Pipa, Yangqin, Erhu, Dizi); Modern Keyboard Instruments (Accordion, Electronic Organ, Digital Piano); Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass); Guitar (Classical Guitar, Acoustic & Fingerstyle Guitar, Electric Guitar); Woodwinds and Brass (Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute, Oboe, Trumpet, Trombone, Bassoon, French Horn, Recorder); Percussion (Drum Set, World Percussion); Vocal; and Original Composition. The diverse categories provided a broad platform for participants of different age groups and musical disciplines, creating a vibrant and multi-layered artistic landscape throughout the event.
From the preliminary rounds to the grand finals stage, every participant demonstrated passion, dedication, and thorough preparation. Beyond the high-level competitive performances, the three-day programme also included showcase segments featuring outstanding contestants. These performances extended the meaning of the competition beyond rankings, transforming it into a platform for artistic exchange and appreciation. The awards ceremony, held in a dignified yet warm atmosphere, marked a fitting conclusion to this year’s competition.
Emily Wang, Founder of SoMe Music School, was invited to serve as one of the adjudicators for the Grand Finals. As an educator who has long been dedicated to the field of music education, she carried out her judging responsibilities with professionalism and integrity, upholding the principles of fairness, impartiality and encouragement. Her participation in adjudicating a competition with a 20-year legacy is not only a recognition of her professional expertise, but also reflects the strong reputation SoMe Music School has established within the music education community.
