On September 20, 2025, Emily Wang, founder of SoMe Music School, was invited as a piano guest performer at the book launch of 《慈悲之心,善济之行:新加坡慈善事业百年史》, participating through music and witnessing an important moment celebrating Singapore’s charitable spirit. Event interviews and performance highlights can be watched here.
The event was graced by the Guest of Honor, Mr. Edwin Tong, Singapore’s Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, along with Minister Teo Chee Hean, MP Wen Lijia, and distinguished representatives from business and society. The ceremony brought together key figures from government, philanthropy, and the arts to reflect on over a century of the Sam Ji charitable organization’s profound contributions to Singaporean society.
In this solemn yet warm atmosphere, the piano performance conveyed the values of compassion, care, and inclusiveness through the language of art. The music not only added emotional depth to the event but also allowed the spirit of “新加坡爱我,我爱新加坡” to flow naturally through the melodies.
SoMe Music School firmly believes that art is not merely a display of skill, but also a social responsibility. By participating in charitable and public art activities, the school aims to guide students in building deeper connections with society, allowing art to become a bridge for spreading love and kindness, and ensuring that warmth and strength continue to flourish.
